Sincere Salon and Lounge Reopening Plan and Procedures

Covid-19 Update

Our top priority at Sincere Salon is the health, safety & well-being of our employees, guests, and the community around us. As we transition back to offering our services to the public, it is important to share the new procedures we will be implementing to take every measure against the spread of COVID-19.

In addition to the already established NYS health and safety protocols, we will be following all mandatory and recommended best practices for hair salons set by New York State. We will also be following the hygiene and cleaning/disinfection requirements provided by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and Department of Health (DOH).

 

We ask that all of our guests review the following protocols and complete the COVID-19 Liability Release form below.

 

Safety Protocols

  • Protective Equipment

  1. All employees must wear a facial covering at all times, even if they are 6 ft. apart and not providing services to customers.

  2. All employees providing services directly to customers must wear a face covering and a face shield that completely covers their nose and mouth.

  3. Customers will only be permitted to enter the salon if they are wearing an acceptable face covering, provided they are over the age of two and medically able to tolerate one. We will provide face masks to customers who do not have one.

  4. All employees must sanitize or wash their hands before and after each service to a customer.

  5. The number of shared surfaces/objects will be limited and any shared objects or frequently touched areas will be sanitized and/or washed before and after contact (i.e. check out desk, credit card machine).

  6. A plastic shield will be in place at check out to serve as a barrier between customers and employees.

  7. Where applicable, we will also be using a mobile/hand-held check out device to minimize the number of people in reception at once; Apple pay (touchless payment) will be encouraged.

 

  • Physical Distancing

  1. The number of employees working at once will be reduced for a period of time after reopening.

  2. Each employee will only be allowed to service one customer at a time.

  3. Employees will be asked to work in pre-determined shifts upon reopening. This will allow us to easily identify anyone who is potentially affected in the case that an employee or customer were to become ill.

  4. We will ensure 6 ft. distance between individuals, unless the service activity requires a shorter distance.

  5. Services will be “by appointment only” until further notice. We will not be accepting walk-in customers.

  6. Visitors who do not have appointments or are not getting services will be prohibited.

  7. Customers will be asked not to enter the salon until they are called to come in for their service. This will minimize crowds in the salon and ensure enough time for the employees to clean/sanitize in between customers.

  8. All amenities including product samples, beverages, snacks, and magazines will not be available until further notice.

  9. LASH SERVICES: Lash services will not be offered until phase III of the capital region’s reopening plan, however, when services begin all lash customers will be asked to use a separate entrance (back entrance) to reduce foot traffic in the salon. Lash services will be checked out using the mobile/hand-held check out when applicable.

 

  • Hygiene and Cleaning

  1. We will adhere to all hygiene and cleaning/disinfection requirements from the CDC and DOH.

  2. All employees have received an updated certification for sanitation protocols from Barbacide.

  3. We will provide and make hand sanitizer available at every employee station for use by employees and customers.

  4. Customers will be asked to wash and/or sanitize their hands upon arrival.

  5. Regular cleaning and disinfection will occur regularly throughout the day, including workstations being cleaned before/after each customer. Shared objects and surfaces (e.g stations, chairs, armrests, cash register, payment devices, etc) will be cleaned and disinfected after every use.

  6. All towels, capes, and laundry will be cleaned after a single use.

 

  • Communication

  1. All employees have been trained on the new protocols and procedures prior to reopening.

  2. We will use social media (facebook/Instagram), our website, and email for active customers on file to communicate any changes or updates going forward.

  3. Safety protocols and salon guidelines will be available on site.

  4. In the event an employee, visitor, or customer was in close contact with others at the salon and tests positive for COVID-19, we will immediately notify local health departments and cooperate with contact tracing efforts, including notification of potential contacts, such as workers, visitors, and/or customers (if known) who had close contact with the individual, while maintaining confidentiality required by state and federal law.

 

  • Screening

  1. All employees performing services will get tested for COVID-19 every 14 days, so long as we remain in phase II of New York state’s reopening plan.

  2. Employees will complete mandatory health screening assessment (including temperature check) at the salon prior to beginning work each day.

  3. Any employee who screens positive for COVID-19 symptoms will not be allowed to enter the salon and will be sent home with instructions to contact their healthcare provider for assessment and testing.

 

We ask that all customers arrive to their appointment in good health. If you are feeling ill or showing any signs of symptoms, please call the salon prior to your appointment to cancel and/or re-schedule. We DO NOT charge cancellation fees, so it is important that you take the proper precautions to ensure a healthy environment.

COVID-19 Liability Release Waiver 

Due to the 2019-2020 outbreak of the novel Coronavirus (COVID19), our business is taking extra precautions with the care of every client to include health history review and enhanced sanitation/disinfecting procedures in compliance with CDC guidance.

Symptoms of COVID-19 include:

  • Fever

  • Fatigue

  • Dry cough

  • Difficulty breathing

  • Chills or body aches

  • Sore throat

  • Loss of smell or taste

I agree to the following:

  • I understand the above symptoms and affirm that I, as well as all household members, do not currently have, nor have experienced the symptoms listed above within the last 14 days.

  • I affirm that I, as well as all household members, have not been diagnosed with COVID-19 within the past 30 days.

  • I affirm that I, as well as all household members, have not knowingly been exposed to anyone diagnosed with COVID-19 within the past 30 days.

  • I affirm that I, as well as all household members, have not traveled outside the country or to any city considered to be a "hot spot" for COVID-19 infections within the past 30-days.

  • I understand that Sincere Salon and Lounge cannot be held liable for any exposure to the COVID-19 virus caused by misinformation on this form or the health history provided by each client.

Our business is following the enhanced safety protocols described in the Sincere Salon and Lounge Re-Opening Plan (COVID-19 Protocols) to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

By completing the form below, I agree to each statement above and release Sincere Salon and Lounge from any and all liability for unintentional exposure or harm due to COVID-19.
